YOUR 7-DAY ADVENTURE
It’s our pleasure to welcome you to Tanzania. Your first stop is the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) after your international trip to Tanzania. Your guide will welcome you at the airport, holding a sign with your name on it for you to easily recognize us.
The transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to Arusha will take around 1.5 hours. Once you arrived we’ll help you check into your
lodge. You can then unpack, rest and get ready for our delicious dinner.

Once you’ve landed at the airport, we’ll bring you straight to our lodge. In Arusha, you’ll get a friendly welcome before our guide helps you check in and shows you to your room.
As night falls, we’ll all gather for a nice dinner, setting the stage for our first trip briefing. Your guide will spill the beans on what adventures are in store. Enjoy your meal, but don’t forget to get some rest. Remember, the early bird catches the worm—or, in our case, the elephants. That’s why we’re up bright and early for our safari kickoff the next day.

Let’s kickstart the adventure! After an early breakfast, we’re hitting the road at 8:00 am for a two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire would be a big deal on its own if it weren’t for the nearby Serengeti. It’s massive, teeming with wildlife (especially elephants), and boasts stunning landscapes.
We’ll go on a game drive, break for a hot lunch around noon, then head out for another drive in the afternoon. After that, it’s a two-hour drive to our accommodation in Karatu town

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll make our way towards the Serengeti, journeying up and over the caldera rim of the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. Along the way, we’ll take a moment to pause and soak in the stunning views.
The name Ngorongoro is rooted in the echoing sound of a cowbell, a nod to its past as a grazing area for Maasai cattle. Say “ngoro ngoro” quickly three times, and you’ll catch the essence of its name.
After a satisfying picnic lunch at the entrance gate of Serengeti National Park, we’ll kick off our first game drive across the iconic plains, heading towards your lodge. Keep your eyes peeled for a variety of wildlife, from graceful antelopes and zebras to majestic lions.
Our team stays connected with park rangers, ensuring we’re always informed about any special sightings nearby. With this network in place, you won’t miss out on any safari highlights. By late afternoon, we’ll reach Moyo Tented Camp, a luxurious safari haven nestled in the heart of the Serengeti. Take your time to freshen up and settle in before we gather for a delightful dinner at 7:30 pm. This camp will be our home for the next three nights, so get ready for an unforgettable safari experience!

Days 4 & 5 are our two full days in the Serengeti, and comprise the heart of your trip. Here’s what your daily itinerary will look like:
MORNING: We kick off the day with a filling buffet breakfast spread at Moyo Tented Camp. Think eggs, sausage, beans, veggies, bread, pastries, and of course, tea and coffee to fuel up. Once we’ve satisfied our appetites, it’s time to hit the Serengeti for our game drive.
Each day holds endless possibilities, but one thing’s for sure—you’ll get to witness the incredible wildlife you came to Tanzania for. Picture lions on the hunt, herds of elephants meandering across the plains, wildebeest and zebras quenching their thirst at watering holes, or graceful giraffes strolling past as they munch on acacia leaves.

Each day offers the option to return to camp for a buffet lunch followed by a rejuvenating two- to three-hour siesta. During this time, the animals tend to seek shade and rest from the scorching mid-day sun. However, we always have the flexibility to enjoy a picnic lunch in the field, maximizing our safari time to the fullest.
Our chosen lunch spots typically come equipped with nearby restrooms, and you can rest assured knowing our expert guides are vigilant, closely monitoring any nearby animal activity to ensure your safety while we savor our mid-day meal amidst nature’s splendor.

Our safari game drives typically wind down in the early evening, though if we stumble upon something captivating, we might extend our time a bit. However, we always aim to return to the lodge before nightfall, as driving in the park after dark isn’t permitted.
Upon our return, you’ll have ample time to unwind and freshen up with a shower before dinner, usually served between 7:30-8:30 pm. If you fancy, feel free to grab a drink in the lounge area beforehand.
Dinner typically features a buffet spread, followed by a tempting dessert. After dinner, you’re welcome to linger a bit longer or retreat to your tent for the night.

At Moyo Tented Camp, every evening unfolds in a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you prefer unwinding with a drink by the bonfire as the Serengeti embraces the night or settling into your tent with a good book after a refreshing shower, the choice is entirely yours.
Tanzanian cuisine leans towards simplicity, so we’ve tailored our offerings to suit western palates. Expect hearty buffets expertly prepared by our chefs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
You can rest easy knowing a comfortable night’s sleep awaits you. Each room boasts a full-size queen bed or two doubles, complete with cozy mattresses, fresh sheets, warm blankets, and plush pillows—ensuring you wake up rejuvenated and ready for tomorrow’s adventures.

We’ll set out bright and early as we make our way to the expansive Ngorongoro Crater, stretching 12 miles (20 km) wide. It’ll be an enjoyable morning journeying through the extinct volcano caldera, observing the animals as they go about their daily routines.
For lunch, we’ll indulge in a picnic at a specially designated spot, nestled in the heart of the crater. Following this, we’ll leisurely ascend out of the crater, heading towards our lodge for a relaxing evening ahead.

Following a delicious breakfast at our lodge in the late morning, we’ll set our course towards Arusha. Along the way, we can make a pit stop at a souvenir crafts shop, if you’re interested, before continuing on to visit a local Maasai tribe.
While there, you might catch a glimpse of their traditional dances, but the real highlight lies in the opportunity to immerse yourself in their culture and traditions. To wrap up the day, we’ll gather for a heartfelt farewell dinner back at your lodge in Arusha.

Unless you’re opting for one of our wonderful post-trip add-ons (see below), we will say “see you next time” today.
Take as long as you like to relax and enjoy your surroundings before we will bring you to the airport in preparation for your flight home (3-4 hours before your flight).
Thank you for enjoying the beauty of Tanzania with us – until next time!
